About Wendy
In loving memory
Wendy Walters ran Gemini Crafts and had a lifelong love of parchment craft. She found real joy in tracing, embossing and perforating delicate designs, and in sharing her patterns so others could create something beautiful too. Wendy sadly passed away on 8th May 2020. This site, and the patterns and lessons in her book, have been lovingly put together by her daughter, Emma, in her honour, so that her work and her love of the craft can live on.

What is parchment craft?
Parchment craft is the art of decorating thin parchment paper to create beautiful, lace-like cards and keepsakes. The main techniques are:
- Tracing – copying the pattern onto parchment with white or coloured ink.
- Embossing – rubbing the back of the paper with ball tools so it turns raised and white.
- Perforating – piercing tiny holes with needle tools, often cut into lace.
- Grid work – using a metal grid to make even, repeating patterns of holes and dots.
- Colouring – adding soft colour with pencils, pens or paints.
